Welcome to our 10th season. (Can you believe it?)
After our meeting on April 15th, 2008, we voted in some significant changes for this year.
Fish limits have all been changed/reduced from 6 to 4 (except muskies - 2 max).
(This will reduce the number of fish in the livewells, and will speed up scoring.)
A 6 species bonus has been added, and that will be worth 60 points.
Use of camera to verify bonus fish for release has been approved for all nights.
This is to be reserved for bonus sized fish only, and should be done only if you cannot see another boat that is close enough to verify the fish.
Finally, to keep up with changing muskie rules each year, we will simply state that any legal muskie is now worth 50 points, regardless of size. A max of 2 muskies can be scored on a given night.
Good luck, and we'll see you on the water!

Thanks for all the great sportsmanship displayed this year. It’s nice to have a quality group of guys that you can trust, and will lend a helping hand when you need it.
Preliminary plans for next year would be to meet at Sammy’s Pizza, in West Duluth, on April 15th, 2008.

Regarding the party at Wicklund’s next week…
Please bring a dish or snack to share, and meat for the grill. Perhaps someone could bring some supplies, like cups, paper plates, plastic silverware, paper towels, garbage bags, etc. We shouldn’t expect Mike to supply everything. Thanks Mike, for hosting the party!!!
See you on Pike!!! Be respectful at the landing, and park parallel on Midway road, to the north of Martin, if the lot is full!

It was a big night for the league! Looks like the final scores from our 1999 season.
The rain fizzled as we started, and gave us a nice window to fish in between storms.
I don’t ever remember 8 teams getting a Multi-Species Bonus. Good job gang!

Cold weather, and cold results on the walleyes, except for the new team! Way to go Size Matters.
Also, looks like the new bar has been set for the big fish of the year, so far...
Next week, we are at the McGregor landing on Grand. (Turn left at Twig, go 2 miles west on #7, Left on McGregor.
Park north of the road by the landing, on the East side, facing North. Leave the south bound side open for traffic. Don’t park next to the garage or house right next to the landing. THANKS! If you want to pre-fish the night before, and leave your boat at one of my docks overnight, let me know. Good Luck!

Finally… a nice night to be on the water. Blue skies, and the wind sat down. The panfish were snappin’, but the bigger fish were a little harder to come by. I did manage to drop my cell phone in the lake, and actually was able to scoop it up with my landing net. As you may have guessed, the phone remains “belly-up.” Good luck next week on Island Lake. Pay attention to the winning strategies from the ALS tournament held there this weekend.

note schedule change - Sunday, May 01, 2005 Note: we had to flip flop Island & Boulder. (Fisherman's Corner is on Island on June 23rd)
|
New Info as of 4/17/05 - Sunday, April 17, 2005Welcome back. We held our 2005 meeting at Sammy's, and here is a thumb-nail sketch of what transpired.
Jeff Pykkonen was voted in as Treasurer.
Richard Mullvain was approved as President-Elect, & Secretary.
Greg Herzig was approved as President.
2005 scheduled was approved. (Note our first night on Rice is on a Tuesday!)
A Conclave-like decision came down to Jeff flipping a quarter to replace our 10th team, and Paul Olson has won a spot. Jeff's cousin, Eric, is next in line if Paul does not pay by May 1st, or if another opening should arise.
Shane brought up issues surrounding our measuring process, and it was decided that we will have 2 boats measure at the end of the night. The 1st & 2nd place teams from the week before. Greg & Rich will measure on the 1st night.
We agreed to pitch in extra money at the end of the year to cover the party at Pike Lake.
We agreed to let Rich keep the $40 left over from last year, and apply it toward the website.
